Why would the White House reach out to someone in Michigan rather than someone say in Gaza or somewhere in the middle east?

“I highlight this for several reasons: Michigan has a significant Arab and Muslim community. Michigan is a critical state this November,” he continued in another post. “I am the highest ranking Arab and Muslim state elected in Michigan, and the lack of outreach only suggests there isn’t a legitimate concern or respect for our communities here in Michigan (and broadly across the US).”

“I am the highest ranking Arab and Muslim in Michigan” is definitely more funny than they probably intended it to be.

I’m normally pretty meh about Biden but I kind of appreciate that he did the bare minimum and wasn’t a racist here.

So he is making a political threat. Isn’t that by definition terrorism?

Terrorism includes violence or threat of violence directed at civilians

There’s not just a single definition of the word, and not just a single correct one. Why don’t you give us your definition that not many people seem to agree with?

Didn’t you read any of my other replies? Specifically the one where I mentioned the Patriot Act or would you rather I look it up for you?

Sure why don’t you? I can’t keep track of everything going on in your world, only reliably just the specific context where we are engaging.

Okay. So where do you read this guy has threatened to use violence to create fear?

the calculated use of violence to create a general climate of fear in a population and thereby to bring about a particular political objective. Source

You imply violence by saying terrorism. That’s why people are saying that it isn’t terrorism.

The issue now is that Biden wants their votes. And to get their votes he needs to do something about Gaza, which he isn’t.

Because people otherwise would shout “We can’t trust Hamas officials!” and thus you have to talk to someone who is obviously not Hamas.
