It was Edward Snowden who said that “Arguing that you don’t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say.”

But the Australian eSafety Commissioner isn’t giving up her “won’t someone think of the children” rhetoric.
And good news in Australia (despite the disingenuous headline).
News today: vote has been postponed.

My admin friend told me that all email is now secure and encrypted by default.
Of course you have to trust whoever is hosting your email though. Don’t trust Gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc
They sing in a higher pitch (more annoying to humans?) to compensate for urban noise.

I suspect the ranting author failed to appreciate that Bluetooth is probably cheaper to implement for the audio because regular headphones require three wires while power supply only requires two. Ingenious really.
EDIT: Proper wired headphones would also require a soundcard in the dongle.
The guy was having a funny geeky bitch. He was laughing at himself. He doesn’t expect Apple to change anything.
EDIT: I think you are right, that last paragraph of his is weirdly serious. Would have been pure comedy without it.
Misleading title. He did not win the appeal.
He won the opportunity to have an appeal hearing.
It is last week’s news anyhow.
Aren’t ads dispersed throughout the discussions? If not, then why not?
I prefer promotion of humility and a lifestyle which puts the emphasis on values relationships, nature, personal time etc, for instance…
In August 2020 the Chinese government launched “Operation empty plate”, a campaign to stop food and beverage waste and cultivate frugality.
However banning materialist fetishes will probably do more good than harm anyhow. Slippery slope though.
Because it depicts teenagers, yeah. It would have been fairer if it showed a dozen people with a more representative spread of ages. It would still skew young though.
I am Gen X, a computer scientist and often use my phone while walking.
Have often jumped on the wrong train because of my lack of attention. Not life threatening but results in extending my one hour journey by 30 minutes. But that kind of error did also happen occasionally pre-phone so at least now I have entertainment for that extra half hour :)
If it was sunny then why didn’t your clothes dry? Why did you leave them overnight?
I find weather forecasts reliable.
In Sydney recently it was raining all week but two days of sunshine were forecast a WEEK in advance. Not that a one week forecast is usually right. All you need is 24 hours and that is very accurate.
In my quote the claim was that Australia was there enforcing the UN resolution. That resolution was made a long time ago, well before China took sides in the Ukraine war. Too late to veto the resolution now.
PS Admittedly my quote is not from a credible source. I haven’t time to test its veracity.
The “you came close to your airspace so we scare you away” response seems like regular old territorial bullying to me.
See my other comment about the EEZ.
