I don’t know, I think you’re clearly underestimating how many people would install Valve’s OS. The number of people with a Steam Deck that don’t know that what it’s running is a Linux distro is pretty high. The other piece to this is that it’s not just a forced Windows update for a huge chunk of users, it’s a forced device upgrade. Valve offering a free upgrade that negates the need to buy new hardware would absolutely capture people’s attention.

My guess is that even if she did, those friends wouldn’t want their intimate relationships sold for capital.

As an Australian, did you want to maybe speak for yourself there mate? We haven’t experienced any major regressions of progressive policies or rights, and just saw our right wing of government shrink to a record low when they tried to import Trump’s culture war schtick. Historically our right wing has actually been fairly moderate. It was a right-wing government that instituted aggressive gun control laws in the 1990s, and a right-wing government that (for better or worse) was in power when same-sex marriage was legalised in the 2010s.

If anything, Australia is literally the poster child for “How Not to Inch Towards Fascism” that other countries should aspire too.

You do realise that automatic rifle ownership by civilians is incredibly illegal in the US, right? And has been for almost 100 years… An AR-15 is not an automatic rifle.

The Constitution only has meaning because you all say it has meaning. All of its enforcement comes down to the Executive branch. Congress doesn’t have enforcers, the Judiciary doesn’t have enforcers. Systematically, all of the people in the Executive branch that would stop this are being forced out. The people in power have decided the Constitution has no meaning, and it’s too late to stop them. Killing some ICE agents is what they want so they have the justification to declare martial law and subjugate the entire country by force.

Spicy food can be incredibly flavourful as well, though there is a subset that is hot just for the sake of it and actually tastes awful. If you’re used to the heat it can also just be warming and comfortable, especially when the weather is colder. It’s getting cold here and I had a Banh Mi today with fresh chilli in it, and it was just comfy and nice :)

I’d argue that large parts of Lower Decks is as well honestly. Especially episodes where the main characters are busy with ship duties while the senior officers are off doing typical Star Trek plot stuff.

If you wanna hard link a directory btw, use cp -lR <src-dir> <dest-dir> to do it. You can’t actually hard link the directory itself, only its contents, so this command will create the directory structure and hard link the files within them.

I think it’s still against the etiquette of torrenting as well. If you only download a few episodes from a season pack then partial seeding is fine, but leaving a game unplayable if you’re the only seed is wrong in my opinion.

That said, in terms of solutions OP, if you’re conscious of disk space:

1. You could hard link the files that don’t change to a new folder, then copy the ones that do change. Don’t need to change filesystems like the other person’s solution. Soft link will also work but then when you wanna delete the torrent files you’ll have to go manually copy the rest over to your install folder.
2. You could always try “force recheck” in the torrent application once you finish playing. It’s likely that whatever changes are happening to those files only occurs while the game is open, potentially even just locking them to read-only, and the torrent application won’t really recheck them once that happens without manual intervention.

I’m going to have to agree with the “politically immature” comment. There are more than two parties, and we’re not even close to USA politics. That’s part of why Dutton’s polling has dropped so much, because he tried the MAGA 2.0 route and people rejected it out of hand. Go do Vote Compass or better yet draw a dick on your ballot so the rest of us don’t have to suffer your poor choices.
