That’s something nearly all professional economists would agree on as well. Its literally Econ 101. Generally speaking, if a government taxes something, there ends up being less of it. Taxes are a disincentive.

This is facebook-tier misinformation. The US spends more per capita than other OECD nations. The problem is not a lack of spending.
My girlfriend in college told me that her friends all agree:
You’re the best asshole we know.
Get over yourself.
very likely won’t cause any security issues.
Hahahahaha. Oh wait, you’re serious? Let me laugh even harder. HAHAHA
Just once a week? They must be improving.
Not necessarily. New York law is that felons are only kept from voting while incarcerated. And since FL law refers to the other States for their residents, Trump will be able to vote for himself, unless he is behind bars. I doubt he sees time in a cell, but I’d love to be wrong.
I always make car dealers take their own sticker or badge off of any vehicle I buy. I usually offer to keep the advertising in place, in exchange for a discount, but they never take me up on it.
While the Sky voice and a version of ChatGPT Voice have been around for some time, the comparison to Johansson became more obvious due to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and many others, drawing the similarity between the new AI model and the movie “Her”.
When your CEO inadvertently helps build a copyright suit against your product… Not a good look.

As has become a bit of a trend lately, they put the useful information in the subtitle so it it won’t get picked up by link aggregators…
Now, Microsoft Word will use the ‘merge formatting’ option by default.
Ahh, I see how it could be interpreted that way. I’ll just pretend this is asked in good faith, despite it being just an off-topic rhetorical jab at the state of the US government.
Why can’t they regulate capitalism when it comes to important shit.
The US government can do this (as opposed to your favored issues) for two reasons: 1) This is executive action by the Biden administration, not requiring Congress. 2) This is inherently uncontroversial, even popular. 81% of Americans have an unfavorable view of China. It is one of the few things Americans agree on with such strong bi-partisan support, thereby making China an easy punching-bag for campaign season.
Further, I would contest the assertion that the Biden administration isn’t also doing those other things, to the extent that is feasible, given the currently widely divided state of our government.
…This article is about the US government doing exactly that. Did you read anything other than the headline?
The US government has allegedly revoked Qualcomm’s and Intel’s licenses to sell chips to Huawei
That green tint means it is pressure treated. Just take it back (this time bring a tape measure.)
Going to Lemmy and asking this is like going to Truth.Social and asking about resources for helping trans teens.
