It can start by denaturalizing him since he lied on his immigration forms and was in the country illegally when he first came here. That’s not even dictatorial, it’s the letter of the law.

Two reasons:

First, in many states the electors are bound by law to support the candidate that wins the popular vote in their state. The penalties may vary, but the intent is clear: to make sure people realize it is against the law in that state.

But the second reason is that each campaign actually picks their own electors for each state ahead of time. So it’s not like the state has one set that will vote either way, and who can be persuaded. All of the states that votes for Harris are sending electors their campaign hand-picked, and likewise for Trump. So each side is sending their own very partisan people, whose political success is tied to their party. Violating that will ruin their political career in that party.

AOC has just turned 35. Although she is eligible, I wouldn’t be surprised if some people want to avoid voting for someone who would still be under 40.

She might have her own priorities, also, and not want to try too early, because if she gets the nomination and fails, she might not get another one. She seems smart enough to only pick fights she can win. Chuck Schumer is no spring chicken and his term ends in 2028. I could see AOC taking that seat it she wants, serving 2 terms in the Senate, and still be in her early 50’s for a Presidential or VP run.

As a sitting Governor, she at least has some executive experience and is more qualified for the Cabinet than RFK Jr. or Stephen Miller. Note: “more qualified” doesn’t necessarily mean “qualified”.

We’ll be lucky if term 2 is just like term 1. That would mean the ACA would survive, no detention camps would be built, and they don’t find a way to deploy the US military to go grab the immigrants and put them into camps.

It’s easy for a serial liar to sound “real” when they are lying. That’s what they’re good at.
