Can we not give them ideas? Thanks.

For graphics an RX 7900 XTX, and for CPU a Ryzen 9 7900X.
I used to agree with this statement, but I’m no longer that sure.
I built a new PC a week ago, installed windows first then Linux. The idea was that I needed Windows for gaming.
Thought I’d try proton + Steam, regardless, just to see how it stacks up.
No performance difference. HDR works through gamescope. The window manager of the DE isn’t insane and I can alt tab around my OS without problem.
Pretty good stuff. Still have windows for work and Valorant, but otherwise I play all my games on Linux these days. The only part that’s lacking, in my opinion, is hot plugging controllers. Annoying that that doesn’t work.
I agree that Pitchford is a dick, but I sincerely disagree about the art style comments: I don’t think it’s morally correct to “copyright” (or, reworded: claim exclusivity of) art styles, especially in this context.
I think the two works are completely independent, and Gearbox being inspired by the short film is completely appropriate.
Anything else would be no different (in my opinion) than cases like Roger Dean (the cover artist for Yes’ early albums) suing James Cameron for the floating islands in Avatar.
It’s not stealing to be inspired by someone else.

Here’s a link to the Wikipedia article of Reddit - it mentions the protests that ensued after her firing.
Here’s a good r/OutOfTheLoop post about her.
Edit: Let’s round off our coverage of Victoria with a Snopes article about her firing.
A rather infamous Reddit employee/administrator who’s generally regarded as being responsible for the Golden aga of IAMA on Reddit (as she personally vetted and brought in some big name AMAs).
She was let go, which was one of the first instances of Reddit’s foray into the realm of anti-community bullshit.
DHCP as in it’s an ethernet connection to a residential router that provides the device with connectivity details.
Normally this isn’t considered as secure as a bad actor can cut the power or connecting cables (e.g. If you’re using dsl) to kick your system offline.
And, yeah, my old security system absolutely had an old 2G/EDGE modem to connect and send basic signals (as a fallback, in case of the above power cutting scenario). Was great.
It’s bizarre.
In my last apartment, I literally had to fight to get a DHCP/ethernet + EDGE (yes, really) connection installed.
They kept asking me why I want two 😅
Yeah, I recently bought the GL-MT6000 and it’s been great.
Kristi Noem, the Republican governor of South Dakota who has been dogged by controversy (…)
Oh, the Guardian - I see what you did there, and I love it.
Regardless, happy to see at least one troll creature slithering away from the public light. I wish the same would happen to some of the more prolific, Jewish-Space-Laser-Conspiracy touting types.
A man can dream.
Edit: Should have read the whole thing through before commenting. Looks like she’s just trying to sweep the bad PR under the rug, which was linked to her old account. The dream is dead.
I always liked their UX, and never noticed any outright bugs?
But, yeah, definitely dislike the Spyware - I recall having to adb shell
into the device and manually disable those processes after each update.
Shame they include that, their devices are (otherwise) really great.
Turkish middle school, high school, and university exams are very serious.
Basically everyone takes the same set of long exams (with a few additions you can add to your standard exam sets, for specialized schools) and when the results come out, you are compared to all other students in the nation.
Like, think global leaderboards.
The best universities will outright reject you if your ranking isn’t high enough.
It’s very intense and cut-throat; so much so that - when I was a young’un growing up in Turkey - I just opted to try my hand at the SATs instead. Ended up going to school abroad.
The SATs were so easy, compared to the exam prep we did in our Turkish classes, it almost felt like a joke. Though, college tuition costs definitely made sure I wasn’t the one with the last laugh.
Its latest commit is from 4 days ago, so it looks like work is still ongoing.
It’s odd, but not unheard of for open source applications to have large windows between releases. They just might not have a reason to bump major versions, at the moment.
If you want the commits since 2022, you can always install a dev build from github.
As a Turk, let me just add:
It’s very well known that the AA is basically just Tayyip’s propoganda machine. It’s a very hard bias towards whatever he’s looking to say, at that point in time, not necessarily right or left wing.
Ooh, I’ll tell them to try it out - looks cool, cheers!
Conduit sounds very exciting - but my synapse installation (and its concomitant database) is too old and big for me to make a switch to anything else just yet.
But I’m hoping Dendrite will one day allow me to migrate over - I don’t like how one of my most mission critical programs is a Python program running out of a packaged venv. 😅
This is the correct answer, IMO.
I loved using XMPP back in the day, but I struggled talking with people who weren’t on the same server as me because of spec and client variations.
While Synapse is a resource hog, it (and Element) - to a certain degree - does the job. Can’t wait until sync v3 lands in the main server.
The only issue I have is with one friend who insists on deploying his own version of Synapse, but can’t figure out coturn and - as a result - we can’t voice chat properly.
Goddammit. Two steps forward, one step backward. 😅
Well, you can see it here.
Also, here’s a nice overview of what it is and why it’s so expensive. I didn’t know that particular species of fish was almost extinct because of overfishing.
As humanity we kind of suck, don’t we?
