Well now I want one.
Well now I want one.
If you look at how the Missouri GOP works they will sandbag any campaign to vote against the repeal, run ads saying a yes vote is a vote for women’s rights actually and muddy the waters so much that voters don’t know what to do and either vote inadvertently for the wrong thing or stay home because they aren’t sure and then the evangelicals will bus people directly from church to the polls and the repeal will squeak by.
Missouri really hates democracy, this isn’t even the first time they’ve gone to great lengths to overturn the will of the people.
I stopped reading at Financial Tech startup. From that alone I know what kind of people we’re dealing with here.
Because all of Trump’s relationships are transactional, he can’t fathom a relationship between two people who actually love each other and work together as equal partners.
Exactly, it’s like thinking he had a plan the whole time to bankrupt his casinos or any of his other many failed ventures. He is just bad at leadership because his narcissism constantly self-sabotages, like with his casinos he constantly made terrible and expensive changes and his ego wouldn’t allow any one working for him to challenge him, so he’d blame everyone, stiff contractors, fire competent staff who could actually turn the situation around and the next thing you know the casino is failing despite it being basically a sure bet for profit in that time and place.
It’s the same here, the country will collapse because he isn’t just a bad leader, he is a collection of toxic qualities that almost guarantee bad organizational outcomes even given very positive starting conditions.
Would this be the first direct conflict between two nuclear powers? Plenty of proxy wars in the past, but I can’t think of a time where two nuclear-capable nations went at it like this.
Sure, but if Iowa can just reject a Supreme Court ruling without consequence then so can any state for any reason on any subject. Then the court has no power anymore.
There isn’t really a mechanism for the court to take up a case without an actual case. Of course, it’s only a matter of time before Liberty or some other conservative outlet gins up a manufactured victim of gay marriage to bring before the court since this court has established that standing can be purely fictional (as long as it’s for conservative causes) and precedent doesn’t matter.
“See, nobody wants to raise taxes on the wealthy, it’s just not popular” - some dipshit in a month or two.
I mean, ok. Pride isn’t exclusionary. Most gay people have straight parents, siblings, friends and so on. If you feel the need to celebrate being straight, that’s cool. If you think you’re a victim because you are straight then I might suggest some therapy.
Absolute favorite is Outer Wilds. The only thing I don’t like about it is that I can’t experience it again. A true masterpiece of a game.
After that, probably Noita for sheer insanity. Deeply unfair, but getting a god-run going is that much sweeter. It took me ~100 hours to beat it the first time, now I can consistently win if I try but I’m addicted to doing stupid things to see what happens.
We used to just call it Work to Rule.
Completely predictable. Empty shelves will be Biden too. Massive inflation? Also Biden. Unemployment, interest rates, everything Biden. He has no other play except to blame someone else so that is what he’ll do.
The local shipping port was empty yesterday. The last time I saw it that empty was during covid. It is genuinely frightening.
This is not what anarchists believe.
Getting awfully Blade Runner in here.
The article specifies that Montana and Texas already do this, so it’s unlikely to cause much of a stir.
if your router is able to you can set up ACLs to allow the TV access to your network but not the internet.
Middle School (Mississippi): Basically all lies: having sex with a condom will give you AIDS, abortions are evil and most women who get them die of cancer or suicide. Even 6th grade me knew that shit was fucking wrong, but I was already on thin ice in that school for fucking up the curve, thank Homosexual Jesus that I was only there half a year.
Junior High (New Jersey): Skip ahead to 9th grade. Sex-Ed was taught by a terrified gym teacher who was just adorable. This was pretty comprehensive, lots of biology and factual information. It was the early 90s so a big part of it was teaching how to avoid getting HIV, teaching both abstinence and condoms. Some mention of same-sex relationships, but when asked about the risk of HIV transmission from lesbian sex he blanched and said he didn’t know. No real fault here given the time period. They also taught various forms of birth control and other STIs. There was an undercurrent of promoting abstinence but also some pragmatic realism. In retrospect it could have been better, but compared to most of the country it was very good.
