They even determined that planning to get yourself in an unsafe situation with the purpose of shooting protesters, travelling across states with a gun to again very intentionally get yourself in a situation where you’d need to use it, is still self defense. Even when you shoot someone without actually being in danger, it becomes self defense when other people are trying to stop you. I believe the parents have a bigger responsibility for the child’s safety than the school. The school should obviously have shut down, but in the end, the parents are the people who are supposed to keep the child safe, not some strangers. And I don’t care wether the parents had already gone to work. If you live in a place where flash flooding can occour, you know the risk is there after strong storms. If the school is expected to know it was a risk, the parents should damn well know aswell.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think i get the sentiment of what you’re saying. Tariffs can be good to bolster local production, and thus, local workers under the assumsion that businesses doing well is good for workers (I’m not convinced it is, at least I don’t think it’ s what’s best for workers. But let’s work within the limitations of the capitalist system here.

The problem is how USA is doing it right now. If you give a 10 year warning before implementing tariffs, while also allocating money to support growing the needed industry, you make sure the industry has time to adapt and make the necessary changes to accomodate the needed growth in production and educating the workforce.

None of that is happening. In fact, while putting in the tariffs, the workers’s jobs are threatened with an economic collaps. The outcome in this scenario is survival of the rich, who will survive a 99% loss in wealth and income just fine. While the most vulnerable, the working class and those even more vulnerable like the sick or handicapped, are asked to simply live with it, and hope to god they may some day be able to afford what they used to. Meanwhile the richest will keep buying all that the working class are forced to sell off, just to survive.

Tariffs aren’t necessarily bad, but in this implementation they’re absolutely catastrophic to the working class, and a sale to the oligarchs.

Correct. Much smaller country with a much more limited employee pool, means the companies will have to show a bit of respect to the job seekers. Don’t wanna piss someone off they may need later, or worse, piss someone off who tells everyone the company is shit and to be avoided. It does depend a lot on the field and region though.

Job hunting is a lot different in my country and field. I usually get a personal email from either the department lead or the CEO no matter the result from the application. It does depend a bit on the company though. The big multinational companies are a lot colder.

This is the right attitude. Just because the fucker decides not to act like he works anymore, doesn’t mean he deserves our money. There is absolutely no way I would ever consider buying a Tesla. I’ve never used those apps myself, but I think a factor is, how do you meet other people when you start working most of the day? Most of my friends who use dating apps, do so because meeting someone at the job is unrealistic, and in some fields, super dumb. So instead they’d have to hope to meet someone at an event or something, but after working a full week, they don’t want to go to events all over the city in the hope that they meet someone, especially not when datings apps are so readily available and easy to use.

I’m not sure when the shift happened, but I had many friends using dating apps mid 2010’s when they started working after highschool, for lack of a better option.

My biggest issue with survival games is usually the lack of a goal. If Jagex treats this game the same way as OSRS or RS3 concerning quests, this could very well be a really nice experience. It could also very well be a very generic survival clone that adds absolutely nothing new to the genre.

It’s also not the first time Jagex has fucked up games. It often seems like they have absolutely no idea what makes OSRS and RS3 as good as they are, and at least for OSRS, the dedication of the mods seem to be the only reason the game isn’t dead.

I suppose we’ll have to wait and see which direction they take it. I hope it’ll be good, but I absolutely expect them to shit the bed on this.
