2·3 hours agoI truly believe it will be, if for no other reason than we’re currently watching a preview from Trump on what will happen to us if PP is elected. And most of us don’t want a wiff of that shit crossing the border.
Canadians seem to be smarter than a lot of our southern neighbours were tho. I mean the polls are showing the Liberals have almost caught up to PP.
And I get that polls shouldn’t be trusted beyond any doubt, but they are an indicator that PP’s rise wasn’t due to anything but Canadian’s anger at JT.
PP will lose big time because he and his MAGAt buddies are dumb as fuck, and seem to fundamentally believe that we are the same as Americans. We are not. At the very least we’ve learned exactly what will happen to Canada IF PP wins … and very few of us want that.
Hellberta and Saskabush are it for right wingnuts. Manitoba went NDP last election and BC is also NDP (in name anyway).
That is probably the thing I admire most about him … his honesty.
Every one of us knows the next 4 yrs (at least) is gonna cost us a huge amount of money, and Carney verifying that instead of bullshitting us shows he’s a stand-up kind of man.
That’s the type of leader you can follow, because he’s worthy of your trust.

I would have thought that would be obvious.
I’m gonna add some context to this that seems to be missing …
- polar bears are starving because of the loss of sea ice
- polar bears are strictly carnivores, not omnivores – so their diet is meat only
- with the lack of sea ice they are spending more time on land searching for food … so they end up in communities at dump sites … and end up in interactions with humans
- this has led Greenpeace and WWF to give tacit support to controlled harvests
- in the last 40 years polar bear populations have declined by 50%, mostly due to climate change (which leads to starvation)
- stopping climate change will help the bears far more than just stopping hunts

Harper locked Canada into a 31-yr-long FIPPA with China that went into force in 2014. I would not be interested in signing yet another agreement with them for any reason.
