It’s been somewhat traumatic. I had to take things back to where they began two generations ago, return to the roots that once were, though they’re new to me. I’m grateful that you and I could commiserate, at least. It’s validating to speak to others who felt the same.
Nah fuck all that. The working class needs solidarity forever. Solidarity, forever. Literally the whole rest of human society is against us and they’ve been winning the whole time, but we’re bigger. The only thing they really fear is working class solidarity.
I left three years ago. I saw all this coming, though I still do the voting bit. Sorry it’s come to this.
I have. Are you going to leave if you can or revolt en masse?
You mistake me: I think it’s so bad people should leave if they can, or revolt en masse. I just also like talking about history.
If we’re talking about American politics in our lifetime, yeah this is tops. But it’s not history’s craziest politics by a long shot

As a NT parent, one of the hardest things has been the “emotional whiplash” of an ADHD kid. One minute it’s a horrific display of emotional violence that scars me for life, and then five minutes later it’s like it never happened. I’m probably slower to change my feelings than most - there are things that happened years ago I’m still able to access fresh feelings about - but even when I actively recover from a fight I’m still upset by the time the next one occurs. It’s taken a toll on my mental health for sure.
The civil war was in abatement, but it never did end.
We’ve found whole buildings full of paid online trolls in Russia poisoning the dialogue and it’s like the whole media industry agreed to stop talking about it. Now they don’t even need humans to do that.
Normally, but malignantly narcissistic behaviour is just about the only subject on which he is a passionate expert.
I only wish it were not so.
“Small government” in a nutshell
What OET lacks in actual humour, it manages to be charming by showing us that the more things change, the more they stay the same - and that “products of their time” could still have a fairly modern moral compass.
I’ve been to this place, ages ago. It was the kind of place you would bring a baby to without a second thought. Crazy that it’s come to this.
