There used to be this person i would see all over town. By town, I mean large city. I would see them in parks and even in friends apt complex parking lots. The last time, my friends saw them too, so i know i wasnt just crazy. They would be dressed, head to toe, like a white, or maybe light blue, bird. They would wear a one piece leotard, that covered thier hair / head and feet, and had feathered wings and maybe shoulders and head? Distinctly a bird, though. They would be like meditating, with thier arms outstretched up toward the sky, perfectly still. It started freaking me out cause I’d see them so much, just standing there, like a statue. Did I have a stalker? Was a bird person cult? Was it an art project? I had all these questions. I felt mildly harassed by this.

FarFarAway@startrek.websiteto Technology@lemmy.world•Luigi Mangione, CEO shooting suspect, is a tech workerEnglish21·4 months agoThe future vice president of America is close with the leaders of the neoreactionary movement. I suppose, I wonder if a positive public opinion would make it easier for them to mobilize.
Edit: ending up with support from both sides of the isle.
FarFarAway@startrek.websiteto Technology@lemmy.world•Luigi Mangione, CEO shooting suspect, is a tech workerEnglish31·4 months agoThat’s a sensible way to look at it. People’s actions can be separate from thier outlook, and that’s ok.
FarFarAway@startrek.websiteto Technology@lemmy.world•Luigi Mangione, CEO shooting suspect, is a tech workerEnglish21·4 months agoFair take. That wasn’t my intention, although, now, I suppose that maybe a natural progression.
I admit, there is definitely a disconnect, considering his actions, but, I really am torn on the idea. I guess, I question that if (and big if) his intention is to build this type of future, would his actions be enough to make others sympathetic to his cause? If, or at what point, people turn away?

Per The San Francisco Standard
Mangione gave Ted Kaczynski’s book “Industrial Society and Its Future” four out of five stars, writing that the man known as the Unabomber was “rightfully imprisoned” for “maiming innocent people” but noting that his actions were “those of an extreme political revolutionary.”
Mangione’s social media accounts paint a picture of a tech enthusiast with a soft spot for conservative thinkers. He has retweeted posts from right-wing capitalists like Peter Thiel and lists an applauding biography of Elon Musk as one of his favorites on GoodReads.

I wonder if the general public will face collective retaliation. If the rich feel secure, they’re going to want to put people in thier place.

There were accounts, posting seemingly “up to date” information with no way to really fact check. There were some political “personal” accounts just testing the waters with BS. Stuff like: “It’s me. I’m not going to say anything else yet, but, here I am.” It made it kinda hard to discern.

He is 42 and draws it for mental illness.English7·5 months agoIf Trump somehow can eliminate taxes on social security, the fund will have to reduce benefits sooner than projected. The cut will only benefit 40% of recipients that pay taxes, and that lack of extra funds comming into the system will bring it closer to insolvency, sooner rather than later. So unless your brother is one the 40% that will immediately benefit from the tax cut, he’ll get to look forward to lower payments sometime in the nearer future.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but…what if this is all a secret agenda to prepare us for climate change? Make it too expensive to use gas or drive or buy stuff or buy food.
They slowly ween us off of our dependence on…everything, while making us think it was our idea. (Cause climate change doesn’t exist) We would have to go back to living with nothing, poor, and growing our own food. Everyone that can’t keep up is given a free meal and work…in jail.
I know, I know. I was just pretending there was a bit of some sort of humanity in this train wreck.
Actually the die mart was my very closest convenience store. Nice guy from Nepal was always behind the counter. Homeless guy would sleep behind the trash cans on the side. Once, he overdosed at the bus stop across the street. Although, the signs lights were out before this happened, maybe there’s more to the name than we realize…
