Wait didn’t yuzu have a pretty good case on this? Like, they are free and open source, they do not make any money off of this by selling software and there is no actually bad stuff included, you gotta get those files from the switch itself. So what even was their reason to take it down?

They made money on their patreon and Nintendo was going to go after the fact that they had a crazy increase in patreon subscriptions in May 2023 because the early-access builds worked with Zelda ToTK before it came out.

I really hope this is true. I know Yuzu will be pretty safe when it comes to finding it in the future, even if it’s not “official”.

That being said, what really worries me is emulation for the next gen switch and if anyone will be willing to attempt to create it, and if not what will happen when it comes to preservation of that console.

There were rumors that Nintendo was looking into system-wide denuvo for the Switch, and that they may be looking to implement that into their newest console. If so, it may not be possible to emulate or even homebrew the next Nintendo console.
