Do you drink the cereal-flavored milk straight from the bowl? I grew up doing this because my parents taught me how good that milk tastes. As I’ve gotten older, I feel a little self-conscious about doing it in public. It’s not something I notice other non-children doing.
Editing to add: I do drink the milk from the bowl. As to when I’m eating it “in public:” hotels mostly. Self-conscious was probably the wrong word. I’m more wondering if people silently judge a grown person drinking cereal milk from the bowl. Not losing sleep if they do, just curious.
I like to use my spoon all the way to the end, maybe drink the last little bit. There is nothing weird about doing that. Although I can’t say I’ve eaten much cereal “in public”.
My first thought. Are people going to a restaurant and ordering cereal?!? Under what conditions would a person eat cereal in public?
I think just hotel breakfast rooms
If that’s it, sure, I would sip the milk from a bowl of I felt like it.
I see barefoot, unbathed tourists, hungover or still on something, shamelessly partaking in hotel breakfasts on the regular, having loud conversations about their “happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” type stories. Sipping the last bits of milk out of a bowl won’t register against the people on vacation who let all standards slide to become total weirdos.
The morning bus ride just isn’t the same without a fresh bowl of raisin bran.
