Canada falls behind nearly 90 per cent of countries in the world when it comes to banning harmful pesticides, including the European Union and Brazil.

    This can be very dangerous as many pesticides are persistent organic pollutants. They don’t break down easily and get stuck in the soil or waterways (groundwater and surface waters). It is very difficult to remove many of these substances once they have contaminated the soil and water.
