Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday was his pick to serve as US ambassador to Israel, previously argued that there was “no such thing as a Palestinian.”
I mean the administration is still debasing itself daily to keep arming a genocide. They’re not working very hard to harden things against trump, but they seem to still be hard at work making sure Israel has plenty of bombs. Maybe the centrists should have listened.
Yeah, now imagine there was a law on the books that required the executive to stop arming a regime that was committing human rights abuses. And now imagine that the Biden administration flagrantly ignored that law. Now you’re all caught up
I blocked most of them over the last year because the lion’s share of them seemed very disingenuous. i.e. they’re here only to screech about a wedge issue during an election season, to use it as a bludgeon to universally bash anyone they disagree with, and generally doing nothing but stirring up shit.
I’ve heard other people mention recently that those accounts have apparently gone silent.
So, let this be a lesson for the next election if we’re fortunate enough to have one: If an account does nothing but screech about a wedge issue, just block them. Mods would be wise to take a closer look at those accounts, too.
From a practical standpoint, I don’t see any difference between Huckabee’s position and Biden/Harris’s position. Biden and Harris may not be stating this explicitly, but their actions imply a similar view.
How many stern letters will Biden send to Yahoo before actually taking some action against Israel’s crimes? How far will they move the goalposts to avoid pulling support for Israel?
How did their solution of not voting help the Palestinians?
If it didn’t, and they didn’t expect it to… Then their reason for not voting had nothing to do with their empathy for the Palestinians.
I hate using this word, because it has been co-opted by shitlords, but what they did was virtue signal at the expense of every trans, disabled, immigrant, leftist, gay person, and yes even Palestinian.
They said loudly for over a year that, if democrats continue to ship unlimited weapons to an ongoing genocide, that their votes would be forfeit. Maybe you disagree with that tactic, but every person has a right to vote their conscience in this country.
Democrats made the decision to explicitly exclude Palestinians from the party. Why would you think that the blame falls upon the voter and not the party that abandoned them?
The democratic party shares most of the blame, but those that withheld their vote exhibited extremely poor strategy which have made their positions and the position of everyone they claim to care about much much worse.
They surrendered what little influence they had. Instead of trying to grow their power like evangelicals in the 70s, they chose to give up and hope that the results are so horrific it creates a left-wing backlash that can sweep in and fix everything.
Hope is not a strategy, and the most likely outcome is what little progress the American left has made over the last 30 years will be completely undone and we will spend the rest of our lives trying to get back to where we were in 2014.
It’s a good thing those righteous big brains banged the drum so much about Harris’ lukewarm Palestine rhetoric. Thanks a lot you fucking idiots.
That was their goal. Trump.

Congress allocates spending, not the executive branch.

If you don’t see any difference, then you haven’t actually been paying attention to the Biden/Harris position.
Yeah fuck those people who care about an ongoing genocide! My feelings about the recent election are more important! /s

They’re stupid, well-meaning, idiots.
