Just one day before Hurricane Helene tore through Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, U.S. Representative Matt Gaetz of the Sunshine State was among several Republicans to vote against a stopgap measure that would continue funding the government and provide billions of dollars in extra disaster assistance.

This isn’t the first time Gaetz has voted against a continuing resolution that includes disaster relief funding. He also did so in 2022, just days after Hurricane Ian ravaged Florida. Despite his most recent vote, Gaetz promised that Floridians would still have support for Hurricane Helene damage, according to a report by ABC 3. When reached for comment, Gaetz’s office directed Newsweek to the ABC report.

That MF literally was caught red-handed sending venmo for minors and scorts to for cocaine fueled parties in and out of Florida. People still voted for him.

Now that they lost their homes and Biden’s sOcIaLiSm is here to help they’re suddenly repented.

The speaker killed his own career by not reaching across the aisle. The only reason gaetz and the magats had any say at that point was because the speaker refused to work with anyone but Republicans.

That wing of the party gets neutered with a handful of Dem votes. You get those by working with the other party.

So gaetz didn’t ruin anyone’s career. The former speaker ruined it himself. Gaetz ain’t that “powerful”.

If that speaker had honored his agreements, Dems would’ve reached across the aisle. There is nothing Dems in Congress love more than reaching across the aisle. The fact that they didn’t shows what a repugnant little weasel Kevin is. That’s all his own decision.
